Difference-frequency generation of optical radiation from two-color X-Ray pulses

Abstract

We describe the process of difference-frequency generation of optical radiation from Xray pulses. We find that the efficiency is orders of magnitude higher than similar effects, and highlight its potential application to probe atomic-scale structures.
