Abstract
Previous studies have shown that the use of black magnetic powder for nonporous stones and the use of ninhydrin for porous stones yield fingerprints of good evidentiary value. These techniques were applied by crime scene investigators and resulted in the development of identifiable prints and the identification of several criminals. Three cases of latent fingerprint development from stones are reported.
