Abstract

This paper presents the design and fabrication of cost effective prosthetic glove prototype for hand rehabilitation. Three different design prototypes are modeled and analysed. The unique design feature of selected prototype is its half ring servomotor operated design which is easily adjustable with varying dimensions of patient fingers. Half ring design prototype parts made up of Polylactic Acid (PLA) material are fabricated using 3D printing process. The prototype is capable to successfully conduct flexion and extension of fingers using strings attached to servomotors. In future, this device will be integrated with force sensitive resistors and controllers which need to be clinically tested on physiotherapy patients for different disability levels.
