Abstract

The implementation of a CIM strategy has a high probability of failure in companies where an end product can be produced by multi-alternative bills of material. This paper provides a solution which is based on the hyper graph approach for modeling and optimizing multi-alternative bills of material in the MRP system, thereby achieving cost reduction, while keeping the quality and service levels required by the company. The approach is realized on the relational database platform and results in Intelligent" database system for decision-making support.
