Abstract
It is demonstrated that a strong probe near a Rabi sideband frequency appreciably modifies the nonlinear refractive index of the pump laser. Consequently, space modulation by a strong pump affects the diffraction of a strong probe at the Rabi sideband frequencies and, reciprocally, the probe affects the diffraction of the pump. Some anomalies in conical emission can be understood qualitatively by these effects.
