Abstract

Crisis communication (CC) research in Israel has not matched the communication challenges Israel has been facing both in domestic and foreign affairs, the state's technological advanced status, its prosperous media industries and public relations practices. In recent years however, there has been more attention to CC and more research projects in this field. This work explores CC research in Israel. It presents major projects and studies by type of crisis and type of research. A relevant context for each research category is provided and also an analysis of the reasons for the relatively limited CC research, and the directions it could and should take in the near future.
