Abstract
Corrosion and corrosion control in vacuum overhead system, typical and unique cases are given and analyzed. Corrosion case studies, analysis and remedies are described at the following units: hydrodesulfurizer, visbreaker, petrochemical plant, and auxiliary facilities (flare disposal system, bitumen facility for odor removal, dissolved gas flotation, spent soda treatment, water systems, gas scrubber at the ethylene plant, separator, and urea injection). Examples of corrosion problems and solutions occurring with pipes and tanks are also given.
