Abstract

We propose, analyse and simulate extensively a novel coherent optical oscillator, where the emitted light from a coherent vibrational wave-packet is amplified beyond the oscillation threshold and the inherent mode competition in the resonator is exploited to solve in real time a major problem of coherent quantum control – finding the pulse that efficiently dumps a general wave-packet into a single target state.
