Abstract

The coherent optical orthogonal division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) based on the wavelet packet transform (WPT) and its influence on the optical communication performance improvement are considered. The novel passive components for all-optical signal processing based on silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguides are described. The novel hierarchical architecture of the transmitter and receiver based on WPT-OFDM is presented.
