Associative Meanings" in the Character Evaluation of Lot's Daughters

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

ABSTRACTAn essay is presented on the evaluation of Lot's daughters which the author suggests should be analyzed separately and differently due to differences in word fabrics and the associative meaning of words. It tells how Jubilees 16:8-9 attempts to highlight the errors of Lot by making her into the central character. Also discussed are the views of various authorities such as scholar Hermann Gunkel, lecturer Laurence A. Turner, and professor Victor P. Hamilton.
