Abstract

It is shown that one-dimensional polarons can exist in the copper-oxygen chains of yttrium cuprates. These particles form a one-dimensional Wigner crystal. The oscillation spectrum of this crystal is obtained. The polaron excitation states in these chains are investigated. The critical superconducting temperature of the holes coupled via both polaronic Wigner crystal oscillations and polaron excitation is discussed.
