Abstract

A series of anamorphic beam shaping experiments performed on totally incoherent light beams is reported. The experiments were performed to improve the beam quality or brightness in one spatial direction at the expense of a reduced beam quality in the orthogonal direction. Beam shaping was applied for high-resolution grating-based spectrometry for diffuse light.
