Abstract

In the model of a common diffuse layer and in the model of independent electrodes, expressions have been obtained for the interrelation of parameters of the compact double-layer part at individual single-crystal faces and at a polycrystalline electrode. The potential drops across the compact layer which are calculated via the first model were shown to depend linearly on the number of specifically adsorbed ions at constant electrode charge density. In the model of independent electrodes, a linear relation only holds at low concentrations of the surface-active electrolyte.
