Abstract

The analysis and design of class AB amplifier applied to supply modulation of EER transmission systems are presented. It is shown that the gain-bandwidth product and the output resistance of the class AB amplifier must be optimized at a given power consumption to meet the output spectrum requirements. The results show that a unity gain class AB amplifier with close loop bandwidth above 3.5MHz at 5ω load resistance is required to meet the EDGE output spectrum mask requirements.
