Abstract
A patient was diagnosed with disseminated gonococcal infection after high-risk sexual exposure. Because the entire clinical picture was not consistent with this diagnosis, additional tests for acute human immunodeficiency virus infection were performed, and a diagnosis of primary retroviral syndrome was made. The authors briefly review human immunodeficiency virus infection.
