N2 - The cross sections of 63Cu(d,p)64Cu and natCu(d,x)65Zn were determined for deuteron beam energy range of 2.77–5.62 MeV at the SARAF Phase I variable energy LINAC. Thin copper foils were irradiated by a deuteron beam followed up by measurement of the produced activation at the Soreq NRC low-background γ-counting system. The results are consistent with data in the literature, but are of better accuracy. The data are important for assessment of the activation of components of Radio Frequency Quadrupole injectors and Medium Energy Beam Transport beam dumps in modern deuteron LINACs.
