Abstract

We begin this chapter by presenting the stochastic Bloch equation, followed by a brief discussion of its physical interpretation. Next, the prescription for the relation between the solution of the optical Bloch equation and the discrete photon counts is described. We then present simple simulation results of SM spectra in the presence of spectral diffusion. An important relationship between Q and the three-time correlation function is found, and the general properties of the latter are investigated. In the Appendix, we calculate the line shape for our working example.
