Abstract

It is of great significance for evaluation methods of body comfort to fully consider the effect of muscle fatigue under the work environment, while it is always neglected in the previous evaluation methods. This paper proposes a new RULA method based on a muscle fatigue model to evaluate the body comfort in the working process, especially fo r dynamic situations. The proposed method combines with the evaluation of working posture in the traditional RULA method, and analyzes muscle fatigue using a muscle fatigue model. The experimental results confirm the contributions of the new RULA method: it cannot only be applied to the static cases but also dynamic cases, especially which need to consider continuing effects of the muscle fatigue and improves the accuracy of evaluation results effectively.
