Abstract

The thermolysis of alkyl-metal compounds under autogenic pressure, with the three metals Cd, Zn, and Al as examples, suggest that this might become a general method for preparing a composite where the metal is the core and carbon the shell. The air-stability of these composites is also demonstrated.
