Abstract

A fluid-structure coupling algorithm was developed for analyzing the dynamic response of fluid-structure systems, the algorithm being incorporated into a nonlinear two dimensional finite difference Lagrangian code DISCO for interaction between a shell and a compressible medium. The algorithm was verified by solving the problem of a submerged elastic cylindrical shell subjected to a step shock wave. (from authors' abstract)
