Abstract
Several typical Brillouin-scattering based sensors and Rayleigh-based sensors are reviewed in this paper, including the Brillouin optical time domain analysis (BOTDA), Brillouin optical correlation domain analysis (BOCDA), dynamic Brillouin sensing, Rayleigh-based optical time domain reflectometry (OTDR) and optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR). At last, several flight tests of distributed sensing for aircraft are reviewed and the prospect of the applications in the health monitoring of aerospace structures are presented.
