Abstract
אל מול הצעות חוק שעלו בשנים האחרונות, המבקשות להתיר המתות חסד לחולים סופניים, עולה על פי רוב הטענה שההלכה שוללת לחלוטין המתות חסד. אלא שמתוך עיון כן במקורות ההלכה מתברר שגם בסוגיה זו הדיון מורכב יותר וקיימים בו קולות מנוגדים. שיח הלכתי רציני ומעמיק יכול דווקא להפרות את הדיון המוסרי אל מול הדילמה של המתות חסד.
