This article postulates that, at present, the State of Israel is drawing close to turning into a dictatorship. To prove this claim, the article examines two types of dictatorship: the right-wing dictatorships, usually identified with fascism, and the left-wing dictatorships, which began with the French revolution and culminated in the Communist Soviet Union. The right-wing dictatorship negates the individual and replaces it with the nation, making individuals part of this larger organism. By contrast, the highest value of the left-wing dictatorship is the individual—not the real individual but the ideal one. Despite theד differences, both dictatorships share a negation of human self-value—individuals and societies—and, therefore, they negate dialogue, doubt,and public criticism. The article argues that Israel is on the verge of turning into a fascist dictatorship. This thesis is corroborated by an analysis of eleven components typical of dictatorships, which are already part of the political and government discourse in Israel. The sedeterminations compel a discussion of ways of resisting this process,which is at the center of the last part of the article.
