The field of social work, through various approaches, has taken the first steps to develop strategies and practices for action on the climate crisis.Aims: To review recent research literature linking the fields of social work and climate crisis and to present the perspectives of central approaches of social work to implement plans of action dealing with climate crisis.Method: Intersecting knowledge from the fields of social work and climate crisis were mapped to present ways of adapting to the climate crisis in accordance with the leading approaches in social work.Findings: The review outlines how the specific perspectives of the central approaches in social work should guide social workers in all fields of the profession in implementing principles of action on the climate crisis. Conclusions: Social work has a significant role in social adaptation to the climate crisis. The climate crisis is not only a threat, but also an opportunity for social work to promote climate justice, equality, and human welfare.Implications for practice and policy: To prepare for climatic emergencies, it is essential to develop awareness of the social and welfare context of the climate crisis and gain knowledge of the local welfare populations impacted by climate change; to create a dialogue with partner actors in the local arena (public, business, and third sectors); to make an ongoing endeavor to pool resources and budget to meet intensifying human welfare needs
