המאמר מציע לאשש את זיהויה של צקלג כתל שרע על בסיס מידע העולה מסיפורי המקרא, הגיאוגרפיה ההיסטורית, הממצאים הארכיאולוגיים, ומסורות מוסלמיות קדומות ומקומיות המשמרות היכרות עם סיפורי דוד באזור. (מתוך המאמר)
