Abstract

These days, Israeli society grapples with profound sorrow and pain in the aftermath of the October7th disaster with its multifaceted repercussions, while facing barely functioning State agencies. This predicament unfolds against a backdrop of several decades during which Israeli governments endorsed socio-economic policies exacerbating inequality. Consequently, the most vulnerable segments of society found themselves marginalized, lacking sufficient access to essential services in health, education, and welfare. Confronted by scenes of devastation and widespread physical and mental suffering, a vigilant and operational civil society has mobilized a remarkable organization. It serves as a testament to the potential for action guided by principles of solidarity, humanity, justice, and equality. It exemplifies the capacity to establish an equitable distribution of resources that responds to the needs of all populations, transcending sectoral and personal considerations
