בשנת 1978 התגלתה בחורבת שייח עיסא, הסמוכה ליישוב חורש ירון אשר בדרום מערב השומרון מערכת תת-קרקעית מרשימה הכוללת 24 בורות פעמון חצובים וסמוכים שחוברו זה לזה.
