Abstract

When was the first women's party established in Israel? Who were its leaders? What were her goals? The book tells the story of the first feminists in the Jewish settlement in the Land of Israel. This political organization took place against the background of the universal struggle for equal rights for women and against the background of the desire of Zionist society in Israel to establish a democratic Jewish settlement. At the center of the struggle were the questions: Are women entitled to vote and be elected to the 'Assembly of the Elected' (mother of the Knesset)? Will it be established in the Land of Israel that 'one law and one judgment for men and women'? The book in front of us sketches the characters of the female fighters, their feminist views and their tortuous path to achieving the desired right to vote. This struggle of Israeli women was the first step in the long path towards equal rights in Israeli society
