The Miriam F. Lindberg Peace Foundation recently announced the recipients of the literary award for Holocaust survivors and their children on January 26. Judit Frigyesi's poem "Girls on balcony" won first prize in the category of second-generation survivors. The poem is about a balcony - let's imagine the fifth floor of a gang-run house in Pest - where two girls, her mother and, decades later, her daughter, find refuge, fleeing from the crisis and its unspokenness.
