I received my Ph.D. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2006 and spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Eighteenth-Century Studies at Indiana University, USA. I have been a lecturer at Bar-Ilan since 2010.

My research focuses on the development of the British novel in the eighteenth century, with a particular focus on Gothic and other popular forms. My first book, Inventing the Gothic Corpse: The Thrill of Human Remains in the Eighteenth-Century Novel (Palgrave, 2018), showed how British novels of the 1700s transformed the dead body from an educational icon into a staple of horror entertainment.

My current work is concerned with popular novels and questions of authorship during the Romantic period. My recent contribution to  the Cambridge "Elements in the Gothic Series," Biography and the Trade Gothic Author: The Case of Isabella Kelly (Cambridge University Press, 2025), shows how biographical research into forgotten popular authors can challenge longstanding beliefs about Gothic literary history.
