About Me

Uri Nir is professor at the faculty of Life-Sciences of Bar-Ilan University in Israel. Nir received his PhD in molecular genetics from the Weizmann Institute of Science and then spent post-doctoral training in the University of California medical Center at San-Francisco, CA., USA. Dr Nir joined the Faculty of Life- Sciences at Bar-Ilan University in 1988. Prof. Nir served as the dean of the Faculty of Life-Sciences a and he currently serving as the dean of students of the university. His research areas include the study of the molecular biology and metabolism of cancer cells and the development of new anti-cancer drugs. Prof. Nir is a member of the steering committee of the Israel Society for Cancer Research and a member of the scientific advisory board of the Israel Cancer Association.
