About Me
Ron Orbach is a Senior Lecturer at Bar-Ilan University, Azrieli Faculty of Medicine. He has an extensive background in molecular biology, with a specific focus on the cytoskeleton and ciliary organization. Dr. Orbach completed his postdoctoral training at Yale University, where he worked in both the Department of Cell Biology and the Department of Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and holds both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Biology and Biotechnology from Tel Aviv University.
As the head of the Orbach Lab, Ron Orbach’s research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying cilia, aiming to advance understanding of ciliopathies. He has published extensively in top-tier scientific journals and his research has been recognized with several awards, including fellowships from EMBO and the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP). In addition to his research, Dr. Orbach is actively involved in academic service, holding leadership roles on various committees and organizing outreach programs to promote science education.
