About Me

I am a Professor of Economics at Bar Ilan University, Current Editor-in-Chief of the European Economic Review and Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Economics, Management and Religion.

My previous academic appointments include the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, Brown University, the University of Bristol and University of London, Royal Holloway. I completed a PhD in economics at New York University.

My research focuses on labor force dynamics, entrepreneurship and applied econometrics. I've published papers in Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economic Studies, the International Economic Review and the Journal of Labor Economics, amongst many other scientific journals.

In addition, I've published several books on the economics of immigration and the economics of religion as well as numerous essays and opinion pieces in the popular press on contemporary economic and social issues. I have also appeared on podcasts to discuss these writings.
