My research focuses on Hebrew literature written in the Middle Ages, with critical specialization in: - Secular Hebrew poetry in medieval Spain; - Maqama and rhymed prose in medieval Spain; - Literary creativity in Hebrew in the Sephardic dispersion after the Expulsion; - Secular poetry in the Balkans, in Salonica and throughout the Ottoman Empire; - Hebrew and general aphorisms in the Middle Ages; - Medieval fables; researching the sources and inter-cultural comparisons - Identifying, deciphering and producing editions of medieval Hebrew manuscripts from Spanish and the Sephardic dispersion.
