About Me

Orit Shaul is a senior lecturer at the Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences of the Bar-Ilan University in Israel. She did her PhD study at the Department of Plant Sciences of the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, under the supervision of Prof. Gad Galili. She did her post-doctoral research at the Department of Genetics of the Gent University, Belgium, under the supervision of Prof. Marc van Montagu and Prof. Dirk Inz?. She moved to the Goodman Faculty of Life Sciences at Bar-Ilan University in 1999. Her areas of interest include: plant magnesium/proton exchanger (MHX) transporters, regulation of plant gene expression [particularly nonsense mediated mRNA decay (NMD) and intron mediated enhancement (IME)], and biofuel production in microalgae.
