About Me

Noga ayali-Darshan holds BA, MA and PhD (2012) degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is a lecturer in the department of Hebrew and Semitic Languages at Bar Ilan University. Her research interest focuses mainly on the relationship between the languages and literature of the Ancient Near Eastern cultures of the second and first Millennia BCE. Her forthcoming book deals with the dissemination of the story of the Storm-god's combat with the Sea in the Ancient Near Eastern civilizations (published in the Bialik Institute, 2016). She is the recipient of the Polonsky Prize for Creativity and Originality in the Humanistic Disciplines for Outstanding Research Paper (HU; 2010) and the Jonas C. Greenfield Prize for Younger Semitists awarded by the American Oriental Society (AOS; 2015).
