About Me
Dr. Netanel Flamer, a senior research fellow at the BESA Center, is a lecturer at the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at Bar-Ilan University and at the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, Reichman University.
He previously served as an intelligence officer for Israeli Military Intelligence (IMI). Dr. Flamer's research interests include intelligence and
counterintelligence, asymmetric warfare in the Middle East, terrorism, and violent non-state actors, with a focus on non-state actors’ intelligence activity in the context of Middle Eastern asymmetric warfare.
Currently, he is researching intelligence and counterintelligence warfare between Israel and its non-state/semi-state adversaries as well as other aspects of these conflicts, including strategy and psychological warfare.
