Academic Profile:
PhD,The Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel, in Molecular Biology of cancer research. Today, Prof. Zion is the Head of the Science Education Program, School of Education, Bar Ilan University. Prof Zion is the Academic Head of The National Center for Support and Development of Biology School Laboratories. Her educational research focuses on health literacy and environmental literacy, metacognition, inquiry-based learning and teaching, and teachers'; professional development. Prof. Zion is the author of several textbooks and interactive websites that serve students learning science in Israel, and has published the results of her studies in leading international journals, been invited to lecture at educational centers around the world, and has been awarded prestigious research grants from the Israel Academy of Sciences and the Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Education.
