Jonia Alshiek, MD, MSc, is a senior lecturer at Bar Ilan University Faculty of Medicine (OB/GYN).
She taught at the Technion / Hillel Yaffe Hospital, and Head of the Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Unit at the Holy Family Hospital in Nazareth. She is a fellowship-trained academic Urogynecologist with expertise in pelvic floor ultrasonography, pelvic floor anatomy, pelvic surgery, medical device evaluation, cosmetic gynecology, evaluation and management of vaginal agenesis / reproductive tract anomalies. She is the senior research scholar at the Inova Fairfax Hospital and an Alternate faculty of Biomedical Engineering at George Mason University, in Fairfax Virginia. Her research interests are discovering the pathophysiology of pelvic floor muscle injury during childbirth.
