About Me

Dr. Isabelle Dotan is a Senior Teacher and Lecturer of French Language and Civilization at Bar Ilan University, Israel. She wrote a Ph.D. thesis Summa cum laude on the writing of pain in contemporary Francophone literature (Authors Sylvie Germain and Jean-Pierre Pirotte). Her research includes themes of pain, happiness, loss, myth and exile. In the domain of didactics and applied linguistics for French teaching / learning she has been working on the use of ICT in Teaching/learning, French Prosody for FFL learners. Nowadays, she works on topics linked to discrepancies between L1 and L2, especially between French and Hebrew. She is a translator of poetry from Hebrew and English to French. She has published various books and articles on literature, applied linguistics and translated books.

She was awarded the Chevalier dans l'ordre des palmes académiques.
