About Me
Dr. Gilad Greenwald is a Senior Teacher at Bar-Ilan University's School of Communication.
Dr. Greenwald completed his doctoral dissertation (2013-2018) at the Department of Political Studies and School of Communication at Bar-Ilan University, under the supervision of Prof. Sam Lehman-Wilzig and Prof. Yaeli Bloch-Elkon. His work focused on a comparative analysis of media coverage of female politicians in Israel and the United States. He completed his postdoctoral studies (2019-2020) at the School of Government, Diplomacy, and Strategy at Reichman University, where he managed the research laboratory for "Comparative Agendas Project" (CAP) in Israel, funded by the Israel Science Foundation (ISF). Since then, he has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals in both English and Hebrew, covering topics such as Political Communication and Gender; Media History; and Media and Popular Culture. He has also presented his research at numerous academic conferences in Israel and abroad. Dr. Greenwald served on the editorial board of the Journal of Intercultural Communication(JICC), published by the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and currently serves as a reviewer for leading communication journals.
Dr. Greenwald holds a teaching certificate from the School of Education at Tel Aviv University, specializing in civics (2013-2015). He also taught civics at "Blich" High School in Ramat Gan. At the university, he has had several pedagogical roles, including Head of the "Academia Integrating Experience" program in the Learning and Teaching Division; a member of the departmental teaching committee; academic advisor for undergraduate students at the School of Communication; and a member of the university’s committee for selecting outstanding lecturers. Over the years, he has received recognition for his teaching excellence, including the Teaching Excellence Grant for teaching track faculty members; Teaching Commendation from the Faculty of Social Sciences; and the Award for Innovation and Creativity in Teaching. Dr. Greenwald has taught as an adjunct lecturer at other academic institutions, including the School of Communication at Reichman University and the Department of Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science at Ariel University. His teaching spans a wide range of subjects, from large introductory courses to smaller elective courses, in both Hebrew and English, for undergraduate and graduate programs.
