Some Biographical notes: 

Professor Emmanuel Friedheim is Chair of the Israel & Golda Koschitzky at the Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry of Bar Ilan University, Israel. He was born and grew up in Paris (France). When he was 18 years, he received a French high school diploma in economic and social sciences and made Aliya. in 1990, he began his academic studies in the departments of Jewish History and General History. He received his B. A., M. A. (Magna cum laude) and Ph. D. (Summa cum laude) in ancient Jewish History in 2000.

He began teaching in the department of Jewish History & and Contemporary Jewry at BIU in 1996, when he was only 26 years old. Professor Friedheim is an expert of the relationships between the Jewish Rabbinic movement and the Greco-Roman cultures in Late Roman Palestine. He published extensiveley (70 studies) on the social, cultural and Religious history of the Jews during the late-Roman and Byzantine eras.

6.    Jewish Education in Ancient Era; Religious Dissidence.
