About Me

I grew up in Milan, Italy and I came to Israel after graduating high school for a one-year Yeshiva program with Bnei Akiva. One more year turned into four, at the end of which I married Myriam and vowed to her not to leave the country against her wishes. I completed my MSc and PhD in the Weizmann Institute for Science, following this up with a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard. Together with our three children, we now live in Givat Shmuel, a walking distance from the BIU campus, where I have been a Senior Researcher in the Physics Department since 2014. My research group deals with non-equilibrium many-body physics. We develop theoretical tools that combine quantum mechanics and statistical physics to better understand the motion of small particles (atoms, electrons, photons) at low temperatures.
