About Me
Eli Assis is a full professor at Bar-Ilan University, in the Department of Bible at, previously he was the head of the department and also served as the dean of the Faculty of Jewish Studies at BIU, and the chairman of the Bible Subject Committee at the Ministry of Education.
He received his bachelor's degree from the Open University. He then studied for a master's degree in the Department of Bible at Bar-Ilan University, and in 1994 he submitted his master's thesis, which dealt with the topic "Despair of Prayer - A Literary Study of the Third Lamentation in the Lamentations Scroll". In 1999 he submitted his doctoral thesis, which dealt with the topic "The Literary Structure of the Story of the Conquest of the Land in the Book of Joshua (Chapters 1-11) and Its Meaning".
