About Me

Dr. Dan Yaffe holds a doctorate in religious studies from the University of Paris X, Nanterre.
His doctoral thesis dealt with the subject of 'Jewish-Christians and the peoples of the land as a phenomenon of deviation in the Mishna period', under the guidance of Prof. Shmuel Trigno.
Dr. Dan Yaffe's main areas of research and teaching are: the history of early Christianity, relations between the Jews and the Christians in antiquity, historiography of the Jewish world towards Christianity and the thought of sages.
Dr. Yaffe teaches many topics such as religious extremism in the Jewish and Christian world, the world of the Talmud sages, the status of women and femininity in the Talmud, education and girls in ancient Judaism, the history of early Christianity, the idea of apostasy and excommunication in Judaism and Christianity, etc.
Dr. Yaffe wrote many books and scientific articles in these fields and belongs to research groups in Israel and around the world.
