About Me

Chaim Noy is Full Professor at the School of Communication, Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2002). After receiving the Rothschild (Yad-Hanadiv) Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Ginsberg Postdoctoral Fellowship (Hebrew University), he worked as a Lecturer and then Senior Lecturer at the School of Communication, Sapir College, Israel. After a Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania (2011-2012), Noy took a tenured, Associate Professor position at the Department of Communication, University of South Florida. He returned to Israel in 2015, and worked for three years at Ashkelon Academic College (2015-2018).

His fields of interest include Media and Communication Studies, Language and Social Interaction, Discourse Analysis, Qualitative and Critical Methodology (with an emphasis on ethnographic approaches), Media ecology, Tourism Studies and Museum Studies.
