Ayelet Segal has spent the last 25 years exploring challenges in Human-Computer Interaction, product innovation, and AI, both in academia and industry. She is a pioneer in Design Thinking and User Experience research and design. Throughout her career, she has led multiple product teams, overseeing strategy and the implementation of product-market fit. She has conducted research for numerous companies across the education and enterprise sectors. Some of the clients she has worked with include Goldman Sachs, Accenture, Intel, MTV, National Geographic, and the BBC. Previously, she is the Head of Education and UX Research at TouchCast, a leading AI video platform for remote work and distance learning. Ayelet is a faculty member and the Head of Research Marathon and Practicum at milab’s MA in HCI program at Reichman University.
Prof. Segal earned a Master’s and a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, Education, and Technology from Teachers College, Columbia University in NYC, USA. Her research focuses on embodiment theory and gestural interfaces to enhance cognition and learning. In 2014, she conducted and published the first study on how children learn with the iPad, examining the impact of multi-touch and gestural interfaces on learning. She also holds a Master of Arts in Interactive Media from Middlesex University in London, which she earned in 1998. Prof. Segal is an international speaker and a published author. She co-authored the chapter Embodied Cognition and Learning Environment Design in the book Theoretical Foundations of Student-Centered Learning Environments.
Ayelet has received international recognition and critical acclaim, earning multiple prestigious awards. In 2002, she became the first professor of Design Thinking and Interactive Media at Shenkar College. Among her many speaking engagements, she moderated a panel at SXSW 2016, delivered a talk at CES 2016, participated in the Learning with Mobile panel at the TC 125 Years at Columbia University conference, and was recently a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania’s Educational Leadership Program and Microsoft all-hands event.
Ayelet is a thought leader in Generative AI and UX with 25 years of experience in Product Development in industry and academia. She is an international speaker and a publisher in Human Computer Interaction. She is the Head of Practicum and UX Lecturer in Reichman university.
She offers consultancy and lectures for UX and product teams who are keen on harnessing the transformative power of GenAI. Designed to spark innovation, inspire application, and empower attendees with actionable insights.
