About the choir
The Bar-Ilan Choir under the direction of Dr. Avi Bar-Eitan is starting up in its new format: 30 singers, including students and administrative and academic faculty members.
The choir includes students from all over campus, most of them from the music department, as well as students studying biophysics, bioinformatics, literature, psychology and education.
"Participation in the choir expands repertory, theoretical and practical musical knowledge; develops self-learning ability and teaches voice development and accurate personal and general singing
as well as harmonic and polyphonic poetry from the best musical literature. The music department at Bar-Ilan excels in the study of Israeli and Jewish music and this affects the choir's artistic repertoire.
The members of the choir learn and perform a wide musical repertoire that includes early Hebrew singers, Israeli songs in artistic arrangements, Jewish music from various denominations, world music and of course...classical music," explains Dr. Bar-Eitan.
Dr. Avi Bar-Eitan is a composer, conductor, and lecturer in the music department at Bar Ilan University. He is engaged in the study of Jewish music and Hebrew singers and in the application of advanced technologies in teaching and creating music. Dr. Bar-Eitan composes music for plays, films, chamber and orchestral music and shares Working with many artists.
