The Ayala Center - School of Education

Organization profile

Organization profile

The Ayala Center operates in educational systems among supervisors, school principals, students and teachers, aiming to create the conditions and means for the maximal development of the individual's and the system's capabilities, under the assumption that capability is a changing, and not a fixed entity.

The program is based on a multidisciplinary and integrative theoretical model, and operates in settlements in the periphery, in underprivileged neighborhoods and in educational institutes in settlements where there is a large immigrant population (such as Or Akiva, Ofakim, Sderot, Netivot, Sde-Yaacov and Hadera).

The Ayala Center's areas of activity include:

·          Increasing the number of students who take full matriculation exams

·          Judaism and democracy: from polarization to integration

·          Integrating immigrant populations into the educational system

·          Educating to accept the other – within the educational system and in the IDF

·          Comprehensive assistance aimed at improving the educational systems in development neighborhoods and towns

The establishment and development of forums of Jewish and Arab education department heads, for the purpose of strengthening the civil partnership and constructive dialog between the two societies.

The program is implemented within the framework of the School of Education, under the guidance of the staff members, and with the participation of graduate students.
