Since October 2018 the Arnold and Leona Finkler Institute of Holocaust Research has sponsored a number of multi-disciplinary forums, some geographical, others topical, which act as "communities" for scholars involved in Holocaust research and active contributors in the fields of Holocaust education and commemoration. The eight forums that are active today include over 400 participants and members.

The Institute of Holocaust Research at Bar-Ilan University was founded in 1981 by Holocaust Survivors and philanthropists, Arnold and Leona Finkler from Toronto, Canada.
Since its inception the Institute functioned under joint auspices with the Institute for the Study of Diaspora Jewry (later the Institute for the Study of the Jewish Diaspora in the Modern Times) that was established in the Faculty of Jewish Studies in 1972.
The Institute sponsors annual conferences and symposia. Among them are:
An annual seminar commemorating "Kristallnacht". A joint seminar with the Israel and Golda Koschitzky Department of Jewish History and Contemporary Jewry commemorating the 10th of Tevet, the "General Day of Kaddish". A seminar to mark the International Holocaust Memorial Remembrance Day, January 27. A joint seminar with the Israel and Golda Koschtizky Department of Jewish History commemorating Yom Hashoah (27 Nissan), and the annual Pflager-Ziskind prize-giving ceremony. An Annual "Spiegel Fellows" Conference. An end of academic year symposium.

המכון לחקר השוא הנוסד באוניברסיטת בר אילן בשנת 1981 על ידי ארנולד וליאונה פינקלר, ניצולי שואה מטורונטו, קנדה. מאז הקמתו פעל המכוןלחקרהשואה בשותפות עם המכוןלחקריהדותהגולה (לימים המכון לחקר תפוצות ישראל בזמן החדש) שהוקם בתוך הפקולטה למדעי היהדות בשלהי 1972.
המכון לחקר השואה ע"ש ארנולד וליאונה פינקלר באוניברסיטת בר-אילן מקיים בכל שנה מספר כנסים וימי עיון. ביניהם:
כנס לציון "ליל הבדולח" בחודש נובמבר; אירוע משותף עם הסמינר המחלקתי ע"ש יהושע קניאל של המחלקה לתולדות ישראל ויהדות זמננו ע"ש ישראל וגולדה קושיצקי לציון י' בטבת, "יום הקדיש הכללי".; אירוע לציון "יום השואה הבינלאומי" ב27 בינואר.; אירוע משותף עם הסמינר המחלקתי ע"ש יהושע קניאל של המחלקה לתולדות ישראל ויהדות זמננו ע"ש ישראל וגולדה קושיצקי לציון כ"ז בניסן, יום השואה.; כנס שנתי של תכנית "עמיתי שפיגל".
כמו כן משתף המכון בקיום כינוסים וימי עיון אחרים בנושא השואה שמתקיימים באוניברסיטת בר-אילן ומחוצה לה.
